Leadership Development
Leadership development only creates value when it matches where the organisation actually is — not where a generic curriculum assumes it should be. By anchoring development to your organisational maturity level and team development stage, you'll get capability exactly when you need it, not a one-size-fits-all programme delivered on a fixed calendar.
My programs create even more value when it meets three levels of reality at once — the organisation's maturity, the team's developmental stage, and the individual's readiness for a specific task. Layering Situational Leadership onto the org-maturity and team-stage lenses ensures leaders aren't just adapting to systems and teams in the abstract — they're adapting to the actual person in front of them, on this task, right now.
Maturity-Aligned, Stage-Responsive
Why this matters
Organisational maturity and team stage tell what kind of environment you're operating in.
leadership is ultimately delivered one person at a time: Two people on the same team, in the same established organisation, can need completely different things — one may need directive clarity on a new task, another may need to be handed autonomy on something they've already mastered.
Result-Driven Leadership closes that gap by focusing on individual readiness (competence + commitment) for a specific task, not a fixed trait of the person.
How this interacts
-
Org maturity sets the outer boundary. An Emerging organisation has less tolerance for prolonged Directing/Coaching at scale — leaders need to build capability fast because there's no process safety net.
-
Team stage sets the collective climate. A team in ' Storming' stage will likely need more Directing/Coaching behaviour across the board, even from leaders whose org context normally rewards Delegating.
-
Situational Leadership fine-tunes the individual response. Within that Storming team, one person may still be R4 on their core deliverable and just need protection from the noise, while another is R1 on a new responsibility and needs hands-on direction.
What this delivers
-
No wasted development — I help build exactly the capability the moment calls for, at system, team, and individual level.
-
Better retention of high performers — high-competence people aren't micromanaged, and struggling people aren't abandoned to "figure it out."
-
Faster team recovery — Storming teams get directive support without the leader defaulting to blanket command across everyone.
-
A genuinely diagnostic leadership language — I'll ask three simple questions before proposing any solution: What does your org need? What does your team need? What does this person need for this goal or task?
-
Leadership development that scales with complexity — as maturity, team composition, and individual readiness shift, so does my approach, without needing a new programme every time.
